With the mystery of Chansey Leclaire and Curry Brennan’s connection solved, they are free to explore their newfound love for one another. Or so they thought…

When Marsala uses a witch and black magic to discover Curry’s whereabouts, he and Chansey are left with no choice. The newly engaged couple is forced to relocate away from their families at the new compound in Savannah, which causes some major changes in the plans for their upcoming wedding.

Relocating to Savannah might have saved Curry and Chansey from being discovered by Marsala, but it doesn’t stop her attempts to reach Curry or her efforts to harm Chansey through the use of black magic. As Marsala closes in, Curry faces the decision he never wanted to make. Will he keep Chansey human or condemn her to eternity as the thing he hates most?

As Curry waits for his hand to be forced, a newly turned vampire arrives at the Savannah compound in need of help. Not only is she a fledgeling in transition, she brings reports of escaping from a vampire cult still in possession of her sister, a human. Any attempt to save the captive human from a cult of vampires puts everyone in jeopardy. Can they risk entering a large cult to save one human being? And is so, how could they possibly do it successfully?

Love will grow. New mysteries will arise. A battle will ensue. A Blood Jewel will be found.

Stephanie’s Review

Blood Jewel is the second book in the Vampire Agape Series.

The relationship between Curry and Chansey finally went into full swing. Marsala had located them by magic so timing of everything was moved up. They were married and their relationship moved to a higher level. You know, as a reader, I had been getting a little frustrated myself about the whole waiting thing. Seriously, they had originally planned on putting the wedding back a few months. Thank goodness for Marsala making them speed it up!

An emergency at the compound cut their honeymoon short and they hightailed it to Savannah. Here I saw some action. The guys had to go rescue a “blood jewel” from a coven of bad vampires.

I learned more about the people at the compound where the vampire coven lives. Other characters showed their personalities more. Solomon, for instance, needed up having a connection with the Blood Jewel, Avery. Jennifer, Avery’s sister and fledgeling vampire was new to the compound and went through a freaky vampire transition phase.

Curry and Chansey experienced something wonderful that took their choice of changing Chansey into a vampire away. The rest of the book was mainly focused on that.

Just like the first book there is a lot of romance and love going on. It even added another potential couple to the mix. It is a very light easy breezy romance with very little conflict. When I first read the prologue on book one about Marsala and her evil ways I thought she was going to be a truly evil vampire, but no. In both of these books she’d done next to nothing. Sure, they kept saying she was putting it off until a certain time but a true evil vampire would have been more diligent throughout the book I think. I’m just saying..

I did like the book. It was a good escape into the world of vampires, my favorite genre. My rating is a 3.0

There is third book in this series to come out possibly early 2013, Blood Doll.
